Construction Begins on SRTS Infrastructure Projects!

It’s so exciting to see work begin on the Eugene Safe Routes to School infrastructure projects!  These projects came out of school action plans, surveys and tallies that were done by 7 area schools in 2009 & 2010. A grant that the City of Eugene wrote along with the 4J school district was awarded in the summer of 2010 and in one of the fastest turn-arounds of these SRTs infrastructure projects yet the City of Eugene began work this Spring to implement the projects and hope to have them all completed by the end of this summer.

Here is a list of some of the projects followed by a new video put out by the Portland Bureau of Transportation and Animated Traffic Law Center (based in Eugene) about the Rapid Flashing Beacons (RFB) being put in at several locations with this grant.
