Report Back from Kid's Mountain Bike Day

Here’s a report back from Trips for Kids-CAT about the Kid’s Mountain Bike Day that was held this past weekend in Oakridge. It sounds like it was a great time and I look forward to more family mountain biking opportunities! Check out for updates and information.
Sunday’s Kids Mountain Bike Day was simply awesome. We had a good turn out of youth and volunteers – besides the threat of rain showers.  We hit over 4 different trails several times for a total of 10 different mountain bike trips.  There was racing, jump track excursions, a raffle with great prizes, and more.  It was obvious everyone had a blast.
Thanks to all the kids and adults that showed.  A big thanks to the volunteers that helped make it happen.  Trips for Kids-CAT was well represented.

And we couldn’t have done it alone.  Several other organizations and businesses played a big part.  It was a Greater Oakridge Area Trail Stewards (GOATS) event.  REI put in time, money, and awesome raffle prizes for the kids (like backpacks & jerseys).  Willamette Mercantile contributed valuable time & effort, and helped get the word out.  And it wouldn’t have been possible with the buses/shuttles provided by Oregon Adventures.
Oh, and can’t forget the Trail Head Cafe for providing the delicious food.
This was our first mountain bike festival for kids …  of many !
