Wednesday Is Bike to School Day!
Wednesday, May 7th is going to be a big day! It’s National Bike to School Day, just part of the Walk + Bike Challenge Month and a great way to focus energy into biking to school! Make a point to get the kids out riding this Wednesday (and all of May for Bike Month)!
For adults there’s a way you can get involved in supporting more kids biking safely to school as well; Oakshire Brewing will be holding a fundraising event for the whole day, donating $1 for every pint sold to benefit Bike Safety Education. There will also be a fun “Bike in Shapes” ride leaving Oakshire at 7pm that night. Come join the fun and support safe (and fun) family biking!
Also, throughout May Wrap City, a food cart in Kesey Square, will be donating a percentage of their sales to our program. So head down there for lunch this month and support a local business AND Eugene Springfield SRTS!
Want another direct way to help youth get excited about cycling? How about a youth-initiated crowd-sourced fundraiser for better bike parking at Sheldon High?! Support this great student project on Citizinvestor!
Finally, one of the best ways to help out is to volunteer! We still need folks to volunteer for our Bike Safety Education community rides. Come out and ride with us!!
