Walking and Biking Groups

Walking School Buses and Bike Trains are a fun way for kids to get to school and provide safety in numbers by gathering students together to walk or bike to or from school with an adult chaperone. The groups can range from informal (imagine texting a group of interested neighbors to remind them you'll meet kids at the corner at 8am and walking with whomever shows) to highly formalized (families sign up their kids to be picked up at a certain time at one of multiple stops on a route) and everywhere in between. We've started and supported Walking School Buses for one-time events, like Walk + Roll to School days, as well as ongoing groups. If you're interested in seeing a Walking School Bus or Bike Train at your school, please contact your district's Safe Routes to School Coordinator.
