Walking and Biking Groups

Come Join us for a fun and active way to get to school!

Walking and biking groups are a fun way for kids to get to school and provide safety in numbers by gathering students together to walk or bike to or from school with an adult chaperone. The groups can range from informal (imagine texting a group of interested neighbors to remind them you'll meet kids at the corner at 8am and walking with whomever shows) to highly formalized (families sign up their kids to be picked up at a certain time at one of multiple stops on a route) and everywhere in between.

A biking groups, sometimes called a Bike Bus, is a group bike ride on a set route to school with adult chaperones. Contact the organizer of your students' ride to find out if an adult must accompany their student, as the requirements vary by ride. These events are volunteer-run, not school events.

A walking group, sometimes called a Walking School Bus, is a group of kids walking together to school with adult chaperones.If you don't live directly on a route, you may bring your child to any of the stops before the pick-up time. Please wait with them to ensure they don't miss the pick-up.

We've started and supported Walking School Buses for one-time events, like Walk + Roll to School days, as well as ongoing groups. If you're interested in seeing a "Walking School Bus" or "Bike Bus" at your school, please contact your district's Safe Routes to School Coordinator.

Arrive at 7:20 AM
and Depart at 7:30 AM
THURSDAYS ONLY- DURING OCTOBER

We will start at the south end of the parking lot at the Amazon Community Center and
Finish at Camas ridge/ family elementary school.

CHARLEGMAGNE

Join Wednesdays

from one of four locations:

7:45 AM: 24th St. Fields (park at 24th St fields), cross over 24th Ave at path crossing.
7:50 AM: Amazon Pool/YMCA (park at YMCA, Hilyard Center, or Amazon Pool), follow the Amazon Path.
7:55 AM: Amazon Dog Park/LTD Park & Ride (park in Park & Ride area), follow Amazon Path under bridge, cross 31st Ave.
8:00 AM: Hilyard Scramble (Where Amazon, Hilyard, and 33rd Ave meet…park at Paddock, Albertsons, on neighborhood streets), follow protected bike path on E. Amazon Dr., turn left on 39th Ave.
